[ A shiver runs down Atsumu's spine as he remembers Silco's words after he'd revived him from a shard. A preemptive strike on the Meridian, though Silco had been talking about going after them and their shards, rather than their leadership, to play the role of the villains that the Meridian already thought they were.
Kind of hard to argue that they weren't with plans like this on the table.
More than one person had kept insisting that they were at war, and that people were going to die. Some soldiers already had, even if Atsumu hadn't personally be a part of any of that. Shard-bears had too in a way, but dissipation seemed like an inconvenient time out in comparison, and nothing had been any worse than that.
So far...
The active plan to kill someone with a name is hitting him harder though. He's never met Cyrus himself, and that's been somewhat intentional on Atsumu's part, but he still knows of the guy, and it makes his stomach churn even as he shakes his head at the suggestion he might want to sit.
No, he definitely doesn't. ]
She really doesn't think we can win the rest of 'em on our own?
[ There's still something so naive and child-like in that question, so... pathetic in a way that even Atsumu can hear as soon as it's out of his mouth. He grimaces as soon as it really sinks in that he's still trying to talk about this like they're playing matches of a game rather than resting the fate of existence on these battles. He gets it, he does. It overwhelms him on a regular basis when he's on his own without someone else to distract him from his thoughts, but it also still all feels so unreal at times.
Like one day he'll wake up from a bad dream. It makes it harder to hate the Meridians, because he can empathize with their wants, even if he doesn't think they can ever become reality. It makes him not want to damage his relationships with the ones he is on good terms with either...
But more than that, it makes him want the actual shard-bearers to not be hurt, even if someone else has to be in their place. ]
